RENFREW COMMUNITY PARK PLAYGROUND

There’s a lot to enjoy around Renfrew Community Centre, such as the aquatic centre, library, dog park and wooded ravine. Our focus for this post is the playground on the north side of the community centre in Renfrew Community Park.

The playground is divided into four distinct sections – the main play structure, the toddler structure, the swing sets and wading pool. As always, it is great that the swings are off to the side so that kids are not accidentally smoked in the head by a soaring child.

Cartier Park playground divided into four distinct areas.

The main structure is a linear platform that leads to a metal spiral slide. There’s a tunnel and hanging wooden bridge in the middle, as well as two sliding poles. Multiple ladders, chain ladders and small wooden climbing wall lead up to the platforms.

The toddler structure fashions the same primary colours and has a small double slide, tunnel, steering wheel and step ladder. There’s also a small wooden seat that I guess is cute.

Although trees line the end of the playground, it only provides shade from mid-afternoon so it can get quite hot during the summer. But fear not, as one can wander the shady wooden paths around the community centre and follow Still Creek to Renfew Ravine located on the other side of E 22nd Ave.

Enjoy some dappled shade at the nearby Renfrew Ravine.
